Investments

The Hedge Fund Investments group has three distinct teams: 1) Research, which sources and evaluates hedge fund managers and their investments; 2) Portfolio Management, which constructs and actively manages portfolios; and 3) Risk Management, which identifies and measures investment risks. (Positions in Chicago.) The Private Markets Investments team sources and evaluates private equity, real estate and infrastructure fund managers and their investments; the team also constructs and manages portfolios. (Positions in New York.)




Client Services

The Client Services group is responsible for marketing our firm, its products and its services, as well as for servicing our clients. The Client Services group is composed of a Marketing team and an Investor Relations team. Together, these teams support the full prospect-to-client lifecycle. The Marketing team focuses on creating communications for prospective and existing investors. The Investor Relations team focuses primarily on servicing existing investors.




Human Capital Management

The Human Capital Management group is composed of the Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Benefits and Employee Relations teams. The group supports the full lifecycle of talent for the firm from hiring and onboarding through development and promotion. As a firm, we are highly committed to hiring and retaining talented employees, and the Human Capital Management group helps champion that mission.




Technology

The Information Technology team is a modern software engineering group embedded in a financial services firm. The IT group is composed of Software Development and Infrastructure teams. The Software Development team follows a modern approach to software engineering, focusing on test-driven development, pair programing, continuous integration, distributed systems and other best practices. The Infrastructure team supports all of our core user-facing technology and is the frontline point of contact for technology troubleshooting.

We review applications on a rolling basis but would recommend that Analyst applications are submitted by September 22, 2017 and Intern applications are submitted by October 1, 2017.  Applications received after this time will be considered for any remaining open positions.

For New Graduates: Our Analyst Program

The Analyst Program provides:

  • A comprehensive, intensive training program on the industry, our firm and alternative investment strategies
  • Skill-based training, such as communication, business writing and advanced Excel sessions
  • Hands-on experience performing meaningful work
  • The opportunity to pursue industry certifications
  • Camaraderie as part of a cohesive Analyst class
  • Participation in the GCM Connect program, which provides mentoring and networking opportunities with employees across the firm, including senior management
  • Opportunities for firm-sponsored community involvement

For Students: Our Summer Internship Program

The Internship Program provides:

  • Substantive work that serves as a realistic preview of our Analyst Program
  • Training that covers firm- and industry-related topics
  • Pairing with an Analyst who serves as a mentor throughout the summer
  • Small-group meetings and lunches with members of senior management
  • Opportunity to be a part of a diverse intern class with students from other top universities
  • Social and networking events with peers in the internship class as well as GCM Grosvenor employees of all levels

Our Process

Our assessment process typically has three phases.

1

Round 1 Interviews

Meet with one or two GCM Grosvenor representatives, either on campus or via video conference.

2

Super Day Interviews

Successful Round 1 candidates are invited to our Chicago or New York offices to meet with four or five people to learn more about day-to-day responsibilities of the role and experience our unique collegial culture. The interviews are followed by an informal lunch with the team.

3

Offer

Successful Super Day candidates will be notified of their offer to join the firm. To ensure each candidate can make an informed decision, those who receive offers will have additional opportunities to speak with team members. We adhere to each school's policies regarding decision deadlines.
